With reference to my Despatch No. 87 of
the 20th. February last, I have the honour to inform you that
though the establishment of a European School at East Point,
similar to that at Kowloon presented to the Colony by Mr. Ho
Tung, is not in my opinion a matter of pressing urgency at
present, yet it is probable that the growing needs of that
portion of the Colony will render it desirable, in two or
to establish such a school in the Belilios Re-
formatory or elsewhere, The institution of a technical school,
however, such as is suggested in Mr. Belilios's letter to the
Colonial Office of the 6th. October last, is not considered
practicable. In the meantime, as you are aware,
three years,
To pract
the Reformatory
is being utilised as a Prison until the congestion at Victoria
41550
Gaol can be otherwise relieved.
